Why rent a boat? Where to go? |
Of course the way that most people explore the island of Samui is by road, but if you’d like to try a slightly more relaxing way of getting to see the sights from the other side of the coastline, then you can rent your own motor boat or sail around the bay at Big Buddha beach on a Hobie Catamaran. Hammerhead Marine is based at Shamabala Resort, down on the beachfront, so why not come and see us where you can see the range of boats, kayaks and other water-based activities available for rental or day charter.
Based on your experience of boats – from zero to expert sailor – we will guide you on the best to suit your particular needs You can take the boats/Hobie Cats out for a little as an hour or if you’d like to go a bit further around to different bays, why not take a half-day of full day rental.
Hammerhead Marine is the only boat rental company on Samui that gives you then opportunity to rent your own self-drive motor boat and explore the coastline at your own leisure.

How far can I go? |
Although the island is relatively small and you can drive around in a few hours, it is not possible to take a boat to motor around the entire Samui coastline. We do have a preferred sailing area, which will be fully explained at your pre-sail safety briefing. This is to provide you with a level of comfort, so that in the unexpected event that you need help, we can get to you on our dedicated safety boat as quickly as possible. This preferred area gives you plenty of scope to enjoy a full day on the water. You have the option to take one of our cool boxes or stop a one of the many local restaurants and have refreshments along the way. |

What if I have problem? |
The 18ft Dory is a newly built boat and the SR is less than a year old, so our boats are in great condition, well looked after and maintained. We certainly don’t anticipate that you should have any problems whilst on your trip, but, if you find yourself in any difficulty with your motor boat, we equip you with a mobile phone and GPS. We can get to you quickly and safely to help get you started or take you back to shore. If you choose the Hobie Cat, we keep tracks on you from the shore and again, in the event of any problems we can get to you within the Big Buddha Bay in the safety boat. |
